RIFLE PARK HOSTS BRITISH PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIP

Rifle Park was once again the venue for a major piping competiton, following on from hosting the European Championships 4 years ago with hosting the British Championship on Saturday.

A significant amount of planning over the past year involving club officials, Banbridge Council officials and officials from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA) made sure that the day ran smoothly.

Over 50 bands from thoughout the UK and Europe took part and club volunteers worked hard in the run up to and during the event to make sure that band members and the thousands of spectators were well catered for. Thanks to all those who gave of their time and effort in the past week helping with the bar, catering and parking and in particular a word of thanks to Willie Andrews and Derek Moorhead who have been involved in the planning of the event for the past year.
