BANN P5s RUNNERS-UP AT COOKE TOURNAMENT

The P5 team who finished runner-up
A great performance from Banbridge's P5 mini team saw them eventually finish as runners-up in the mini tournament at Cooke.Bann qualified from their group as runners up to Lisburn who defeated them by a single try in a very tight game. In their other group games Bann defeated Carrick, Dromore, Cooke and Ards scoring a total of 33 tries in the four games, whilst conceding only 1.Bann 0-1 LisburnBann 7-0 Carrick Bann 7-1 Dromore Bann 14-0 Cooke Sharks Bann 5-0 ArdsThey faced Belfast Harlequins in the semi-final and dispatched them with a 4-1 victory taking them into the final to face Lisburn again. The final was a rematch of Bann's only group defeat against Lisburn again. Leading 2-1 at half time in the final, Bann were hopeful of bringing some silverware back to Rifle Park. A couple of injuries didn't help and Lisburn eventually won the final 4-2. The guys performed superbly and with two more tournaments to go in Lisburn on May 2nd and Portadown on May 9th, confidence is high for the P5s. Well done to all involved and good luck to them and all the mini teams for the rest of the season.
