U14s DEFEAT DUNDALK IN FRIENDLY
BANBRIDGE Under 14s 33 Dundalk
February 21, 2009

On Saturday Bann U-14s entertained Dundalk at Rifle Park in a friendly fixture. In perfect weather conditions Bann dominated the early exchanges with good inter-play between forwards and backs resulting in Ryan Graham scoring under the posts.

From the re-start No 8 Johnny McCreery collected the ball and with support from the rest of the pack provided a stable platform for scrum half Josh Coyle to release the backline. A second score was added when hooker Neil Cochrane powered over the opposition line.

Dundalk never gave up and were competitive throughout, with some excellent tackling and they were rewarded on the stroke of half-time with a well-deserved score.

Bann continued in the same vein during the second period. With the elements in their favour and both forwards and backs working in tandem, further scores were inevitable. Out-half Graham (2) and McCreery added to their own and the team’s try tally. With three conversions from full-back Macauley Little and one from Graham, Bann eased home to win with something to spare
